Early Adopter Stakes will enjoy various perks to show gratitude for their support in Wealth Mountain V1. These stakes are locked.

## What is Early Adopter Staking?

Early Adopter Staking is comprised of a list of users and amounts that will earn rewards generated by the Wealth Portfolio. There are a few important characteristics of Early Adopter Staking that users should be aware of:

* **Early Adopter Stakes are locked.** These amounts are called stakes for sake of consistency, but they are actually just numerical representations.
* **The Early Adopter Pool is a numerical representation, not liquid capital.** Early Adopter Stakes are used to determine rewards percentages only.
* **The Early Adopter Pool will only go down, over time.** New stakes cannot be made in the Early Adopter Smart Contract.
* **This is not a refund attempt.** Many users confuse the Wealth Mountain platform with other platforms in that an assumption is made around refunds. There are no funds to be refunded to begin with. Migration amounts are determined by the amount of risk users agreed to take when interacting with Wealth Mountain V1.
* **Rewards will continue to be paid to the Early Adopter Pool.** The goal of our team is to eventually eliminate the Early Adopter Pool altogether.

{% hint style="info" %}
To summarize, V1 of Wealth Mountain was found to be unsustainable. Users had the opportunity to make life-changing profits, with considerable risk. Users who decided to take the risk either profited or lost. For any user who ended up net negative, a migration process opened up to offer distribution share in V2. Smart Contracts in V1 have depleted - so no user capital exists from V1 anymore. Rather, there is a representation of a user's net loss that is being used to distribute rewards in V2!
{% endhint %}

## How are rewards calculated?

Rewards are calculated by looking at your remaining stake amount relative to the Early Adopter Staking Pool. Your remaining stake amount represents your percentage of the total pool. When a distribution of rewards is made, you will receive this percentage of the total distribution.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Example scenario:**

Total Rewards Pool = $100

Your stake = $10

Your pool weight = 10%

In this case, you should expect to receive 10% of all rewards distributions.

Reward distribution = $10

Your earnings = $1
{% endhint %}
